Over churning but basically uptempo swing bass+drums, piano and alto attack with relentless energy. The obsessive exploration of the ways that short fragments can be collided reminds me (poetically) of watching the endless roiling and smashing of currents in a raging river, and (muscially) of Cecil Taylor, Coltrane's most obsessive solos, and more modern experiments like Irabagon/Barr's 'nothing but the blues'. Sublime, deep, powerful stuff.
